Lead Planters for your garden, Northern Ireland
History

Lead has been used for centuries both practically for example in roofing and decoratively to make statues and garden ornaments as it can be easily cast, bent or shaped and not only is it resistant to harsh weather conditions its colour also improves with age.

In the 17th and 18th centuries lead cisterns became common in big country houses were they were used to collect rain water for domestic use, these became more ornate, with family crests, commemorative dates and flamboyant designs and this led to the popularity of Lead Garden Planters.

Although by the 19th century lead planters were to become less common there was a steady growth in popularity again by the 20th century

An now more than ever Lead Planters have become very fashionable, to the point that imitation Lead planters are sold in almost every garden centre through out the UK & Ireland

Although imitation lead planters remain popular they simply cannot compete with the durability, quality and colour of a real traditionally cast lead planter.
